In DNS, A records consist of three elements.. the hostname, the IP address, and the TTL (time to live).
The hostname identifies the name that should be used to contact the target device / website.
The IP address identifies the numeric identity that should be used to contact the target device, or the website/service that is being hosted on the target device.
The TTL is indicates the time period in seconds, that anything that accesses this record should believe the retrieved information is accurate for before rechecking this record for any updated data.
